The Golden Algae Eater, also known as the Indian Algae Eater, is a popular and hardy fish in the aquarium hobby. These fish are characterized by their bright gold coloration and elongated, slender bodies.

 

Originating from Southeast Asia, the Golden Algae Eater requires a well-maintained aquarium with plenty of hiding places and clean water. They prefer a tank size of at least 30 gallons and can grow up to 6 inches in length. The Golden Algae Eater is a peaceful fish that can be kept with other non-aggressive fish.

 

In terms of diet, the Golden Algae Eater is primarily herbivorous, and their diet should consist of algae wafers, fresh vegetables such as cucumber and zucchini, and occasional meaty foods such as brine shrimp.
