The Golden Head Sleeper Goby, also known as Valenciennea strigata, is a beautiful and unique saltwater fish species that originates from the Indo-Pacific region. They are a popular choice for aquarists due to their striking appearance and unique behavior.

 

Golden Head Sleeper Gobies can grow up to 12 inches in length and require a minimum tank size of 50 gallons. They are a peaceful species that can be kept with other peaceful fish species in a well-established and mature reef aquarium. They are known for their burrowing behavior, and they will spend much of their time digging and sifting through the sand in search of food.

 

These carnivorous gobies will eat a variety of foods, including frozen and live meaty foods, such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and krill. It's important to provide a varied diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

 

The Golden Head Sleeper Goby's unique characteristic is their striking golden head and face, which contrasts beautifully with their brown and white striped body. Their peaceful nature and interesting behavior make them a great addition to any reef aquarium.
