The Aiptasia Eating Filefish, also known as the Bristletail Filefish or Matted Leatherjacket, is a popular and effective species of saltwater fish that is highly sought after for its ability to control Aiptasia anemones in reef aquariums.

These saltwater fish require a moderate-sized tank of at least 50 gallons with plenty of swimming space and hiding places. They are relatively hardy and can adapt to a variety of water conditions, but they prefer a stable environment with consistent water parameters and a salinity level between 1.020-1.025.

The Aiptasia Eating Filefish can grow up to 6 inches in length and has a peaceful temperament, making it suitable for a community tank. They are non-aggressive towards other fish and invertebrates but may nip at corals and other sessile invertebrates.

These fish are carnivores and require a diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, krill, and other seafood. They are highly effective at controlling Aiptasia anemones, which are a common pest in reef aquariums. However, they may also consume other small invertebrates and nuisance organisms, so it's important to provide them with a varied diet.
