The L014 Sunshine Pleco is a vibrant and eye-catching species from Brazil’s Rio Xingu, known for its golden-yellow fins and dark, patterned body. This large, semi-aggressive pleco thrives in warm, well-oxygenated water with moderate to strong flow and ample hiding spaces created by rocks and driftwood. It prefers temperatures between 78–88°F (25–31°C) and slightly acidic to neutral water. The Sunshine Pleco is an omnivore with a strong preference for protein-rich foods, such as sinking carnivore pellets, bloodworms, shrimp, and mussels, along with occasional vegetable matter to aid digestion. Territorial toward other plecos but peaceful with mid- and upper-level fish, it needs a spacious aquarium and excellent filtration. With proper care and stable conditions, this species can reach 10–12 inches and live 10–15 years.
