The Mexican Red Legs Hermit Crab (Clibanarius digueti) is a popular species of hermit crab that is commonly found in the waters off the Pacific coast of Mexico. These crabs are known for their distinctive bright red legs, which contrast with their brownish-red bodies.

In the wild, Mexican Red Legs Hermit Crabs are scavengers and feed on a variety of organic material, including algae, dead animals, and small invertebrates. In captivity, they can be fed a diet of dried seaweed, meaty foods, and commercial hermit crab food.

Mexican Red Legs Hermit Crabs are a popular addition to marine aquariums and are known for their ability to clean up excess food and algae in the tank. However, they can be aggressive towards other hermit crabs and may require adequate hiding places and plenty of space to avoid conflicts. They also require access to shells of various sizes, as they will periodically need to move into larger shells as they grow.
