The Neon Dwarf Rainbow, also known as Melanotaenia praecox, is a stunning and popular freshwater fish species that originates from New Guinea. They are a great choice for community tanks due to their peaceful nature and colorful appearance.


Neon Dwarf Rainbows are relatively small, with a maximum size of 2.5 inches, and require a minimum tank size of 20 gallons. They are active swimmers and appreciate plenty of hiding places, live plants, and open swimming areas. They are also peaceful and can be kept with other small, peaceful species.


These omnivores will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and small pieces of vegetables. It's important to provide a balanced diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

The Neon Dwarf Rainbow's unique characteristic is their stunning blue and orange coloration, with a black stripe running along their body. Their vibrant colors make them a standout addition to any aquarium.
