The Neon Goby, also known as Gobiosoma oceanops, is a small, colorful, and fascinating saltwater fish species that originates from the Western Atlantic Ocean. They are a popular choice for aquarists due to their bright colors, unique personality, and ease of care.

Neon Gobies are relatively small, with a maximum size of 2 inches, and require a minimum tank size of 10 gallons. They are active swimmers and appreciate plenty of hiding places, live rocks, and open swimming areas. They are also peaceful and can be kept with other small, peaceful species.

These carnivores will eat a variety of foods, including frozen or live brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and small pieces of meaty foods. It's important to provide a varied and balanced diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

The Neon Goby's unique characteristic is their striking neon blue and yellow coloration, which contrasts beautifully in well-lit aquariums. They are also known for their symbiotic relationship with larger fish species, as they clean the skin of their host fish by eating parasites and dead skin cells.
