The Neon Tetra, scientifically known as Paracheirodon innesi, is a popular and iconic freshwater fish species that originates from South America. They are a great addition to any community aquarium due to their peaceful nature and stunning appearance.

Neon Tetras are relatively small, with a maximum size of 1.5 inches, and require a minimum tank size of 10 gallons. They are shoaling fish and should be kept in groups of at least 6 individuals to thrive. They are also peaceful and can be kept with other small, peaceful species.

These omnivores will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, and small pieces of vegetables. It's important to provide a balanced diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

The Neon Tetra's unique characteristic is their vibrant blue and red coloration, which runs along the length of their body. Their colors can be enhanced by providing a dark substrate and a well-planted aquarium. They are also known for their distinctive behavior of schooling together in a tight formation, which makes for a mesmerizing sight in any aquarium.
