The P.J Cardinal, also known as the Pajama Cardinal, is a peaceful and colorful saltwater fish that is popular among aquarium enthusiasts. This species is native to the Indo-Pacific region and is known for its distinctive black and white striped pattern, with a bright red-orange spot near its tail.


P.J Cardinals are generally peaceful towards other fish, making them an excellent choice for community aquariums. They require a minimum tank size of 20 gallons, with plenty of hiding places such as live rock or plants. They can grow up to 3 inches in length and have a lifespan of up to 5 years.


This species is relatively hardy and easy to care for, making it suitable for both novice and experienced aquarium keepers. They should be fed a varied diet consisting of both meaty and vegetable-based foods, such as frozen shrimp, krill, and algae.


The P.J Cardinal requires a stable and appropriate water environment, with a salinity level between 1.020-1.025 and a pH level of 8.1-8.4. They prefer moderate water flow and a well-lit aquarium.
