The Red-bellied Piranha, also known as Pygocentrus nattereri, is a well-known freshwater fish species native to South America. These fish are known for their sharp teeth, powerful jaws, and predatory behavior.

Red-bellied Piranha require a large aquarium of at least 100 gallons with plenty of swimming space and hiding spots. They are aggressive and should be kept in a species-only tank. They are not recommended for beginners due to their aggressive behavior and specific care requirements.

They are carnivores and will eat a variety of live or frozen meaty foods such as feeder fish, shrimp, and small pieces of meat. It's important to provide a varied diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.
