The average size of a Red Tail Botia Loach is between 6-8 inches, with a maximum size of around 10 inches. It is recommended that a minimum tank size of 50 gallons be provided for these fish to ensure ample swimming space.


The Red Tail Botia Loach is a peaceful and social fish, making it an ideal choice for community tanks. They are known for their active and playful nature and can often be seen swimming in groups or exploring aquarium decor.


One of the unique traits of the Red Tail Botia Loach is its striking coloration. They have a brownish-grey body with black stripes and a bright red tail fin. Their appearance adds a pop of color to any aquarium.


In terms of care, Red Tail Botia Loaches are considered to be moderate. They require a stable water temperature between 75-82°F and a pH level between 6.0-7.5. They are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including flakes, pellets, frozen or live foods.
