The Royal Dottyback, also known as Pseudochromis paccagnellae, is a stunning and colorful saltwater fish species that is highly sought after by aquarists. They are native to the Indo-Pacific region and are known for their striking purple and yellow coloration.

Royal Dottybacks are relatively small, with a maximum size of 3 inches, and require a minimum tank size of 30 gallons. They are a hardy species and can be kept with other peaceful community fish species. However, they can become territorial and aggressive towards other Dottybacks or similarly sized fish.

These carnivores require a diet of meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and small pieces of fish or squid. It's important to feed them a varied diet to ensure they receive all the necessary nutrients for optimal health.

The Royal Dottyback's unique characteristic is their vibrant purple and yellow coloration, which can change depending on their mood or environment. Their aggressive behavior towards other fish can make them a challenging addition to some aquariums, but their stunning coloration and hardiness make them a popular choice for experienced aquarists.
