The Snakeskin Barb is a unique and striking freshwater fish that makes a great addition to any aquarium. These fish are small in size, averaging around 2 inches in length, with a maximum size of 3 inches.

 

To keep these fish happy and healthy, a minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended. They are social creatures and prefer to live in groups of six or more. They have a peaceful temperament and are compatible with other peaceful fish.

 

The Snakeskin Barb is rated as a "Moderate" fish to care for out of three options, which means they require some effort to maintain. They are an ideal choice for intermediate aquarists.

These fish are omnivorous and will happily eat flakes, pellets, frozen or live food. A varied diet is recommended to ensure their optimal health.

 

The Snakeskin Barb originates from the rivers and streams of Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

 

In terms of coloration, the Snakeskin Barb has a silver body with a pattern of black stripes resembling snakeskin. The males have a more vibrant coloration and longer fins than the females.
