Snowball Shrimp, also known as Neocaridina cf. zhangjiajiensis var. white, are a freshwater shrimp species that are selectively bred for their bright white coloration. They are a popular choice for aquarium enthusiasts due to their unique appearance and ease of care.

Snowball Shrimp require specific water parameters to thrive, including a pH range of 6.0-7.5, a temperature range of 68-78°F, and moderately hard to hard water with a total dissolved solids (TDS) level of 150-250 ppm. They prefer a planted tank with hiding places and moderate water flow.

In terms of diet, Snowball Shrimp are primarily algae eaters and will consume most types of algae in the aquarium. They may also benefit from supplemental feedings of commercial shrimp pellets, blanched vegetables, and live or frozen foods.

Snowball Shrimp are peaceful and non-aggressive, making them suitable for community aquariums. They can also coexist with other types of shrimp, such as Cherry Shrimp or Crystal Red Shrimp. Snowball Shrimp are prolific breeders and a healthy colony can quickly populate a tank if conditions are favorable.
