The Sparkling Gourami, also known as the Pygmy Gourami, is a small and peaceful fish that makes a great addition to any peaceful community aquarium.

These fish are relatively small, growing up to 1.5 inches in length, making them suitable for smaller tanks. They are best kept in a tank of at least 10 gallons with plenty of hiding places such as plants or driftwood.

The Sparkling Gourami is rated as an "Easy" fish to care for out of three options, which means they are suitable for beginner aquarists.

These fish are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet consisting of high-quality dry, frozen, and live foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and small pellets. They should be fed once or twice a day to ensure their optimal health.

The Sparkling Gourami is native to Southeast Asia, where it can be found in slow-moving streams, marshes, and rice paddies.

In terms of coloration, the Sparkling Gourami has a silvery-white body with iridescent blue-green spots and a bright red-orange belly. The males also have longer fins than the females, which makes them easy to distinguish.
