The Tassle Filefish, also known as Chaetodermis penicilligerus, is a stunning and unique fish that can add a touch of personality to any saltwater aquarium.

This fish is a saltwater species that prefers a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025 and a pH level of 8.1-8.4. The Tassle Filefish has a distinctive appearance, with a thin, elongated body covered in small, hair-like projections. The body is typically a light green color, while the fins are often a bright yellow or orange.

The Tassle Filefish is a relatively small fish, reaching a maximum size of around 6 inches in length. They are generally peaceful fish that can be kept in small groups with other non-aggressive species. A minimum tank size of 30 gallons is recommended, with plenty of live rock and hiding places to make the fish feel secure.

To care for a Tassle Filefish, it's important to provide a varied diet that includes a mix of live, frozen, and prepared foods. They are carnivorous and will readily eat small crustaceans and worms, but can also be trained to accept pellets and flakes.

Water quality is important for the health of the Tassle Filefish, so regular testing for ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels is recommended. Weekly water changes of 10-20% are also advised to maintain a stable and clean environment.
