The Vanderbilt Chromis, scientifically known as Chromis vanderbilti, is a captivating and vibrant saltwater fish species that adds a touch of elegance and color to any marine aquarium. With its stunning blue body and eye-catching yellow tail, the Vanderbilt Chromis is a true gem that will enhance the visual appeal of your reef tank.

The Vanderbilt Chromis displays a vibrant blue coloration on its body, which is beautifully contrasted by a striking yellow tail. This color combination creates a visually stunning display and makes them a focal point of any aquarium. They typically reach a size of around 3 to 4 inches, making them suitable for small to medium-sized reef setups.

Known for their peaceful nature and schooling behavior, Vanderbilt Chromis are best kept in groups of at least 5 to 7 individuals. The presence of a school not only enhances their natural behavior but also adds a lively dynamic to the aquarium. They are compatible with a variety of peaceful marine fish species, but caution should be exercised with larger or aggressive tank mates.

Feeding the Vanderbilt Chromis is relatively easy as they are omnivorous. They have a voracious appetite and will readily accept a variety of high-quality flake or pellet foods designed for marine fish. Supplementing their diet with frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp or mysis shrimp will provide them with added nutrition and help maintain their health and vibrant colors.
