XL Yo-Yo Loach (Botia almorhae) Care Guide:
The XL Yo-Yo Loach is a lively and intelligent bottom-dwelling fish recognized for its bold silver-and-black “YOYO” patterning and social personality. Native to slow-moving rivers of India and Pakistan, this loach thrives in groups of at least five to prevent stress and aggression. A spacious, well-oxygenated aquarium of 75 gallons or more is ideal for adult specimens, which can grow up to 6 inches. They prefer temperatures between 75–82°F (24–28°C), pH 6.5–7.5, and moderate water hardness. Yo-Yo Loaches are omnivorous scavengers that enjoy sinking pellets, frozen foods, and live snacks such as bloodworms or snails. Provide plenty of caves, driftwood, and smooth rocks for hiding, along with a soft substrate to protect their delicate barbels. Active mostly at dusk and dawn, they are excellent snail control and do well with other peaceful to semi-active tankmates.
